Concrete Slab Stabilization - Wilmington, MA
Problem:
The
concrete slab for this warehouse was buckling
down under the heavy vehicle loads from trucks
entering the warehouse. This was most likely caused
from poorly compacted fill soils underneath the
settling concrete slab, allowing a void to develop
underneath. Removal of the concrete was not a
viable option in that this area was at the entranceway
to the warehouse, and trucks needed access to
the buildings every day. The work had to be completed
within a very short timeframe.
Solutions:
Northeast Helical LLC mobilized a pressure injection
pump and grout plant to repair the concrete slab.
Multiple access holes were drilled in the slab
through which the grout was pumped through. The
underslab voids were fully filled, and the entranceway
was back in use almost immediately
