With countless acres of wetlands destroyed in our country over the last hundred years, conservation of these sensitive areas remains vital to the survival of our ecological system.
To that end, Helical Pier technology provides an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional construction methods. Environmental walkways, or boardwalks, can be constructed within these sensitive areas without heavy equipment or even concrete. Typically, a three-man crew will use handheld equipment to install the helical piles with minimal disturbance to the surrounding wetland area. After the helical piles are installed, they are fitted with U-shaped walkway brackets, which accept timber framing to build the walkway upon.
Northeast Helical provides turnkey services for environmental walkway projects, handling all aspects of construction, including locating the piles, installing the helical supports, and constructing the boardwalk using our skilled carpenters.
Northeast Helical routinely provides technical support and budgeting estimates to both design engineers and landscape architects. Look to Northeast Helical to help with your next environmental walkway project! |
